More poetry

Seasonal Musings

by Donna Earnhardt

Spring

Breaking through

The frostbitten earth

Gasping for freedom

From its winter cell

A single flower

Reaches

toward the sun

and

dances

Summer

Sunlight slicing

Through

the morning’s yawn

Parched grass and

Flowers

Drooping –

Fading –

Praying

For

rain

Fall

The east wind

whips the forest floor

a churning

concoction of

Sangria

Terra Cotta

Mahogany

Gold…

Autumn’s potpourri du jour

Winter

Silent

Alone

Frozen in time

Waiting for

The call

Of spring

To awaken her

Senses and the

Sleeping hope

within

  1. These are beautiful, Donna. I especially love Spring, because perhaps I’m an Easter gal myself. New hope and rebirth …

How is the daily writing of poems coming along?

    1. thank you, Carol! I wasn’t sure how they would be received…but I still had to put them out there. What good is a poem if all it does is wither away in a drawer? 🙂

Thanks for stopping by and again, thank you so much for your kind comments!
