writing for children

Can you feel it?

Do you feel that shaking? That’s the vibrations from my house. Why is my house shaking? Because I’m jumping up and down with excitement!

1. Our very own Jean Matthew Hall was interviewed by the fabulous author (and blogger), Carol Baldwin! You can find the interview here.

2. Our sweet Jean sent out some updates and reminders regarding Write2ignite this morning. I’m pasting it below. Hope to see you in February!

Winter is definitely here across the East, up North, down South, and out West. We’re praying it blows itself out before February 18-19, 2011, because that’s the BIG Write2Ignite! weekend. (Have you invited a writer friend to come along?)

Here are a few reminders:

Midnight (EST), January 15, 2011, is the deadline for applying for a Cec Murphey Scholarship. Midnight (EST),

February 9, 2011, is the Deadline for registering for the Conference.

If you need professional CEUs for your portfolio you can earn 1.0 hour CEU through USC for attending all 10 sessions at Write2Ignite!. Watch our blog for coming details.

Our Teen Track teacher, Carol Baldwin, is raring to go! Register your middle school and high school students today!

Do you have any published books? Would you like to sell them at our Write2Ignite! Book Table? Please contact Linda Andersen at landersen74@yahoo.com for details.

We are preparing a Blessing Box filled with books for young children to donate to Ready 4 Reading of Greenville, SC. We’re asking every Conference participant to contribute one (or more) new or lovingly-used board book, picture book or early chapter book to help us fill the Blessing Box. Whether you are a published author or not we hope you’ll contribute to this worthy organization whose mission is to help under-served preschoolers develop readiness for reading and a life-long love for books.

That’s the news for now. Keep watching our blog for new information. We’ll see you in February.

  1. Hi Donna,
It’s great that there will be a book collection for children. I need to start searching my bookcases.

Thanks for posting these reminders and the interview with Jean.
    Linda A.

  2. Linda – thanks for being a constant source of encouragement for me and my blog! 🙂

Carol – hmmm… you write fab books, she writes fab books. You have a wonderful blog, she has a wonderful blog. YOu are teaching at our teen track this year and yep…she is, too.

Eh, the jury is out on this one. We’ll have to do more digging. 😉
